2005年と2007年に出版したフリップブックシリーズ『Breathe In Peace』の新作として制作された、箱状の仕掛け玩具。 “Breathe In Peace” は哀悼句 “Rest In Peace” からの造語で、「めくる」ことを「息をさせる」ことに置き換えて考えている。本来は息をしていない造花が箱の中で咲き、萎れてまた咲くことを繰り返す。

These box-shaped mechanical toys were newly made for Breathe in Peace, a flip-book series published in 2005 and 2007. The phrase “breathe in peace” was coined from that of “rest in peace,” an expression of mourning. I thought of equating flipping the book’s pages with letting the book breathe. Artificial flowers, which of course do not breathe, repeatedly go through the cycle of blooming in the box, withering, and then blooming again.
